Brief history/description of the case:

The client attended the Accident and Emergency Department of Naas General Hospital in respect of head injuries he had sustained. 

The Doctor who examined our client failed to adequately physically examine or assess him and thereby failed to diagnose inter alia a displaced and depressed fracture of his right zygomatic bone, and  fracture of right side of his mandible. The fractures were such that they required surgical treatment.

The said injuries were not diagnosed until some six weeks later and in the interim the client suffered considerable pain, and inability to tolerate normal diet.  In the circumstances the client suffered personal injury, loss, damage, inconvenience and expense.

Settlement:

John Glynn & Co  recovered €19,000 plus costs for the client in respect of general damages for the period until his operation when the matter was rectified.
