Alleged Assault by Actor Woody Harrelson Settled
The man who claimed to have been assaulted by actor Woody Harrelson in a Dublin nightclub has settled his High Court action.
Mr Eamonn Cullen of Artane, Dublin initiated an action claiming damages for personal injury, assault and battery, loss and expense. The proceedings were first brought in 2004 against Engelson Ltd, South Frederick Street, Dublin, the trading name of Renards nightclub.
Mr Cullen claimed that the actor assaulted him at Renards nightclub in September 2001 with a snooker cue, as a result of which he allegedly suffered a damaged tooth and a split lip which required 12 stitches.
Mr Harrelson, known for playing bartender Woody in the sitcom Cheers and appearing in the Oliver Stone film Natural Born Killers, was later joined as a co-defendant.
Ms Justice Mary Irvine was told yesterday by David Nolan SC, for Mr Cullen, that the case had been settled.
